Short answer: Bearable is one of the best general health trackers you can download. If you live with several conditions, or want mood, energy, gut symptoms and migraine in one place, it is a strong choice. Claru does one thing: migraine. If attacks are the main thing you are trying to understand, Claru gives you an attack log you can use mid-migraine, automatic weather and pressure data, a daily risk forecast and a report your doctor can read in two minutes. Bearable has none of those four.

We build Claru, so we are not neutral. Every Bearable fact below comes from its website, help pages, App Store listing or privacy policy as of October 12, 2026, and we are clear about where Bearable wins.

A general tracker versus a migraine tracker

Bearable grew out of its founder's own spreadsheets for living with chronic health conditions, and it shows in the best way. You can track almost anything: symptoms you name yourself, mood, energy, sleep, food, bowel movements, cycle, medication and events. People with ME/CFS, POTS, long COVID, ADHD or depression use it to see how everything affects everything else. Its free plan lets you track all of that without limits.

That breadth has a cost for migraine. In Bearable, migraine is one symptom you rate in a check-in. There is no attack with a start and an end. A recent Google Play reviewer asked for a duration setting for symptoms, which is the kind of gap you notice when migraine is your main problem. Reviewers also describe the first setup as a lot to take in.

Claru has no mood journal and no gut tracker. What it has is a migraine record built around the questions a neurologist asks: when did it start, how bad was it, what kind of pain, where, which symptoms, what might have triggered it, what did you take and did it work.

Logging when you are actually in pain

Filling in a daily check-in on a good evening is easy. Doing it in a dark room with nausea is not.

In Claru you can press "I have a migraine now" and get Migraine Mode: a dark, full-screen, distraction-free view with larger touch targets and an optional auto-dim. Or tap the microphone and say "Woke up with it, pressure behind the right eye, about a six, had wine last night, took sumatriptan at eight." The AI fills in onset, location, severity, a possible trigger and the medication, and you confirm. Three voice logs a month are free; Pro makes them unlimited. A few hours later Claru checks in to ask whether you are better and what helped.

Bearable has no voice input and no attack-specific screen. Its logging is quick for the things you have set up, but it was not designed for the worst hour of your week.

Weather and barometric pressure

For many people with migraine this is the deciding point. Bearable's own help centre says it is not possible to sync local weather data into the app. You can create factors such as "humidity" or "storm" and tick them yourself, but the app does not know the actual pressure where you are.

Claru fetches barometric pressure, air quality and pollen for your location automatically, so you never log the weather. The free forecast uses pressure changes as one of its risk drivers. Pro shows how your attacks line up with pressure drops, air quality and pollen over time. If you suspect weather triggers, our migraine weather forecast tool is a free way to check upcoming pressure swings in your city.

Patterns, correlations and forecasts

Credit where it is due: Bearable's correlation reports are excellent. Premium's Impacts tab shows how each factor relates to each symptom, and you can run structured self-experiments. If you enjoy exploring your own data, few apps are as flexible.

Claru's insights are narrower and more opinionated. For free you see when attacks happen (time of day, day of week), how often and how severe. Pro adds weather correlations, medication effectiveness with time to relief, sleep and exercise effects, combinations such as "poor sleep plus stress", and a weekly written summary.

Then there is the forecast, which Bearable does not offer at all. Claru's home screen shows today's migraine risk with a confidence level and the drivers behind it: a recent cluster, a typical bad weekday, a pressure change, short sleep, high stress or your cycle phase. It is free. It will not be right every day, but it gives you a reason to protect a risky day instead of finding out the hard way.

Taking it to your doctor

Bearable lets you export your data as CSV and share some reports, and its help page suggests screenshots for others. That works, but a spreadsheet is a lot to hand to a neurologist with a 15-minute slot.

Claru Pro creates a PDF for the last 7 days, 30 days or 3 months, with the sections you choose: overview, frequency, severity, triggers, medication log, relief follow-ups and every entry. It is designed to be read quickly. Before an appointment, our doctor appointment checklist helps you decide what to bring.

Price

Bearable is cheaper. Premium is $6.99 a month or $34.99 a year, and its pricing page says the annual plan is often discounted to $18.99. Bearable also runs a sponsorship scheme that funds free Premium for people who cannot pay, which deserves recognition.

Claru Pro is $12.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US App Store. The free plan already includes unlimited migraine logging, Migraine Mode and the risk forecast; Pro adds the deeper analysis, the doctor PDF and unlimited voice logs and history.

Privacy

Bearable says it does not and will never sell personal data, stores data in Frankfurt and does not ask for your name or age. It does use analytics and the Facebook SDK for advertising measurement. Claru's privacy policy also says we do not sell your health data, and we also use analytics and install attribution. Both apps let you export your data. If privacy is your top concern, read both policies.

Choose Bearable if

  • You track several conditions and want them in one app.
  • Mood, energy and mental health matter as much as headaches.
  • You want to customise every factor and scale.
  • You want the lowest price or need wearable sync today.

Choose Claru if

  • Migraine is the main thing you are managing.
  • You want to log an attack in seconds, even by voice, while it is happening.
  • You think weather or pressure plays a part and do not want to log it by hand.
  • You want a daily risk forecast and a doctor-ready PDF.
  • You would like the app in German or Spanish.

Moving from Bearable to Claru

Export your Bearable data as CSV first so you keep your history. In Claru, add your medications and the triggers your Bearable correlations already pointed to during setup. Log every attack and a few good days for the next month. If Bearable still works well for mood or other symptoms, keep it for those and let Claru handle migraine.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bearable good for migraines?
Bearable can track migraine as a symptom alongside mood, sleep, food and medication, and its Premium correlations can show what tends to come before bad days. It has no dedicated attack log, no automatic weather data and no forecast, so people whose main problem is migraine often find a migraine-specific app easier.
Does Bearable track weather or barometric pressure?
Not automatically. Bearable's own help page says it is not possible to sync local weather data into the app, so you tick weather factors such as humidity by hand. Claru pulls pressure, air quality and pollen for your location automatically.
What is the best Bearable alternative for migraine?
If migraine is your main condition, Claru is built for it: voice logging, a dimmed Migraine Mode, automatic weather and pressure data, a daily risk forecast and a PDF report for your doctor. If you track several conditions at once, Bearable's breadth is hard to replace.
How much does Bearable Premium cost compared with Claru Pro?
Bearable lists Premium at $6.99 a month or $34.99 a year, often discounted to $18.99. Claru Pro is $12.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US App Store. Bearable is cheaper; Claru includes migraine features Bearable does not have.
Can I use Bearable and Claru together?
Yes. Some people keep Bearable for mood and general health and use Claru for migraine attacks, forecasts and doctor reports. Just avoid logging the same attack twice in two places, or your history becomes harder to read.
Is Bearable available in German or Spanish?
Bearable's app interface is in English only according to its App Store listing in the US, Germany and Spain. Claru is available in English, German, Spanish and other languages.
