Migraine Pain Location: How to Track Changes Without Overthinking Them
Pain location alone does not diagnose migraine, but it can add helpful context. Map the side, area, and changes over the course of an attack alongside nausea, light sensitivity, and other symptoms.
Add location to the log
- One side, both sides, or shifting sides
- Temple, behind the eye, forehead, neck, or face
- What changed as the attack progressed
- Any symptom that feels new or unusual
Seek medical advice for new or concerning symptoms rather than trying to self-diagnose from a map.
